According to a BBC poll, three of the top ten cricketers of all time played on the The West Indies Team - Sir Garfield Sobers, Sir Viv Richards and Brian Lara (who currently has a residence in Barbados). Cricket Legend Sir Garfield Sobers was born in Barbados and had an outstanding career on the West Indies team. He is know as being one of the best all-rounder crickers of all time. He hit 6 sixes in his first English Country season when he created history by breaking a 57-year-old record or the most runs in an over. He was knighted by the Queen in 1975 and named a National Hero of Barbados in 1998. You can see his statue outside Kensington Oval today!
