What a delightful place of rest Chateau de Mar is! From waking up to the sound of birds, looking out to the beautiful view of the sea and spending hours splashing in the pool with the children. So many thoughtful touches, beautifully adorned, Chateau de Mar is a perfect holiday home providing space comfort and luxuries as well as the wonderful holiday angel Andrea, for whom nothing is too much trouble.
We are already planning our return trip sometime in the near future.

Thank you to the owners of Chateau de Mar for allowing us to spend ten glowing days at this beautiful villa. It felt like an oasis while here with so many enchanting areas to look at and spend time in... we didn’t want for anything! If we needed anything, Andrea was there to offer guidance, support and always greeted us with her warm smile. She left the house spotless and impeccably organized daily and we will miss her tremendously! Our family will hold the memories close to our hearts and hope to be back to reset soon!

Wow! What can we say about our fantastic trip to Barbados and our lovely stay at Chateau de Mar. We made some fantastic memories here including some great meals, picturesque views, celebrating our friends’ wedding and best of all, meeting Andrea. We loved the friendly care she provided the whole trip.
The villa was a great place to relax, swim, see some nature and fully unwind. There will be many things we look back on with great fondness but overall, the highlight of the trip was hanging out here, having lots of fun and keeping Andrea on her toes! Lots of love!

Chateau de mar has been a perfect location for our spring family holiday. many, many thanks, especially to Andrea for keeping everything calm, clean, and peaceful as well as for being excellent company. there were seven of us (my husband & I, our two sons, their wives, and our baby granddaughter), we found more than we could have imagined here - thoughtfully appointed accommodation for each family as well as generous common areas. We particularly liked the front patio space overlooking the sea, and the dining space overlooking the pool and the inner courtyard. With the beach and the ocean on our doorstep we were able to be on the beach. And in the water repeatedly each day. I especially loved being able to snorkel each morning and explore the endlessly entertaining underwater landscapes and a range of luminous tropical fish. With thanks.

Where can we even begin? We leave here feeling relaxed and with a special place in our hearts for Chateau de Mar. We've always loved Barbados as an island and this villa has just topped us up with Bajan charm and added a beautiful experience to our long list of reasons why we love visiting this magical part of the world. Andrea is an absolute super star who has looked after us so well. The small details and major details of the villa add so much. Everything has been so well thought out and appointed. What another wonderful stay at our favourite place in Barbados. Amazing hospitality by the owners and our dedicated housekeeper. She is a real gem. Fabulous meals in the Fishpot, Tides, La Cabane and a few other places- however the Fishpot and The Wok is still my personal favourite. Used Dwayne and his speedboat to explore the coastlines and a speedy rent car to mix with the locals at their hidden gem (organic food markets). Can’t wait to come back in January. Much love to all.

Such a beautiful, tranquil house located right next to the beach in St Lucy. The Fish Pot restaurant is situated just across the road and has a great atmosphere and delicious food. Speightstown is also just a 5-10 minute drive away and has plenty of vibrant beach bars and restaurants. I also loved sitting out on the front porch every evening watching the sunset through the trees and listening to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach. The house was super clean and spacious, beds were really comfortable and all amenities worked perfectly. Would highly recommend for a peaceful and relaxing stay in Barbados.

Absolutely fell in love with this gorgeous villa. It is lovely decorated inside, open plan living and kept absolutely spotless by the lovely housekeeper Andrea. The garden is a little oasis itself with the pool and sun loungers to relax. In the front is a large lounge area to sit, read or just listen to the ocean. The villa is just steps away from the beach to go for a swim or watch the sunset. The Fishpot is across the street, my favorite place to dine out or just go for a sundowner…

My wonderful friends and I stayed at the gorgeous ‘Chateau De Mar’ for my 50th birthday celebrations last month, and it was the most idyllic girly trip ever. Perfectly positioned literally a stone’s throw from the beach and 2 minutes walk from the fantastic ‘Fish Pot Restaurant’, this fabulous 5 bedroom villa is beautifully designed, well-equipped and the spacious interiors are just absolutely stunning. We didn’t want to leave, it was just so perfect! The shopping mall and restaurants in Holetown centre are only a short taxi ride, and there are some fab restaurants in Speightstown, which are only 5 minutes away. Our absolute favourite place to dine was the ‘Fish Pot’, and not because it was the closest, it was by far the best food, service and view of all the places we visited. We would also definitely recommend ‘Baia’, ‘La Cabane’, ‘QP Bistro’, ‘Tides’, ‘Lone Star’, ‘1-11 East’, ‘Local & Co’ and ‘Sea Shed’. Another ‘must’ is to book Dwayne to take you by water taxi along the coast to ‘La Cabane’ (or any of the other beach restaurants) for lunch. He picks you up from the floating pontoon in front of the ‘Fish Pot’, so it’s super easy! His guided tour of the west coast of Barbados and knowledge of all the celebrity properties is mind boggling. To return back to the villa along the coast, while the sun is setting is also incredibly beautiful. We would highly recommend ‘Chateau De Mar’ to anyone interested in visiting this magical island and we can’t wait to visit again in the near future.

Had a wonderful stay at the most perfect, paradise location in Barbados . It is literally a stone’s throw from the beach and a very well appointed, spacious villa with direct access to an idyllic setting and the most wonderful restaurant- The Fish Pot , which has got all that you need . A great breakfast , lunch and dinner and an amazing place to sit in the sun . On lazy days , there is nowhere better than to chill at the villa , by the private pool and enjoy a few drinks on the terrace . I would love to return to this gem of a place soon .

I feel so incredibly lucky to have found this villa , such a lovely location , right across the road from the beach . The villa is very clean and offers everything one shall need . Such a quaint little pool to a beautiful dining room, sun beds and also a lovely area if you prefer shade . There is a delightful restaurant across from the villa so no worrying about driving or taxis , you can enjoy a wonderful meal and a lovely bottle of rose watching the most beautiful sunsets .. This is a little gem and I hope if your reading this you too will enjoy chateau de mar as we did .

Lovely stay at Chateau de Mar, we came to celebrate a birthday and we had such a great time. Super host, housekeeper included for 6 days a week. Accommodation was impeccable, clean and very stylish. Stayed in the apartment (Rumshack) which has its own kitchenette. Bed was super comfortable. Clean and all air conditioned. Great gardens which makes it feels like an oasis with many birds and humming birds to see and listen to. And as it’s only a hop away from the amazing Fish Pot restaurant we didn’t need to cook much. Calm seas most of the times with a sandy beach so even I was swimming - used the sun beds at the Fish Pot and saw sea turtles whilst snorkelling there. Highly recommended for families or friends to chill out and enjoy the more local side of Barbados - 5 stars from me.

Loved this villa! Spacious, clean and well serviced and a few steps from a lovely beach and the Fish Pot Restaurant. Four lovely bedrooms in the main house and a wonderful spacious separate en-suite adjacent to the main house giving additional privacy. There is a superb covered seating area at the front of the house, perfect for reading and sundowners whilst listening to the sea, watching the sunset and admiring the luscious vegetation in the garden. At the rear of the vila is a lovely pool with sun beds plus a shaded seating area. Al this is overlooked by the covered outdoor dining area. The kitchen is well provisioned. Speightstown with restaurants and a gorgeous beach well worth a visit is only 5 minutes drive away although with the fabulous food across the road at the Fish Pot with it’s lovely beach you don’t actually need to venture away from the villa if you’re looking for total relaxation. Boat trips and diving can be arranged from there too.

Lovely location, literally across the road from the beach so you hear the waves all day / night, so relaxing. We occupied the Rum Shack, a separate self-contained cottage adjacent to the main house, which was well appointed and spacious and kept spotless by the very cheerful and helpful housekeeper, Andrea. The pool area is a suntrap and off the main living room there is a comfy covered terrace for sundowners - the sunsets are spectacular. Also across the road is the Fish Pot hotel and restaurant, perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner and all day drinks and snacks on the beach, the staff are really friendly, as are all the local neighbours. A must is a speedboat trip along the west coast with Captain Dwayne, he runs from the Fish Pot jetty and is really friendly and knowledgeable. Well worth a few hours at sea.
