Oistins Friday Fish Fry

Oistins is an active fishing town on the south coast of Barbados, this hub of activity is a must do on Friday nights for the big fish fry. The food is the main draw, local chefs prepare excellent fish such as tuna, swordfish, marlin, mahi-mahi and flying fish. You can also enjoy lobster, chicken and many delicious traditional Bajan side dishes in an informal setting. You can get your fish grilled or fried depending on which vendor you choose from, all the fish is cooked on the spot in front of you.

A platter of fish and a beer will cost you about Barbados $40.00.

There is also local Barbadian art and craft items on sale, including jewelry, pottery, ceramics, leather craft, wood carvings, straw craft, clothing, and original paintings.

There are two sources of music mostly back-in-time and the other local music including the current Crop Over hits. Feel free to dance if you want or watch the others dance, on occasion there is also a live band playing.

Food is usually available from about 6:30pm but if you go early you can walk on the pier and enjoy a beautiful Barbados sunset. You can also collect your fish scraps from the vendors in the fish market and feed the sea turtles.

Frequented by visitors and locals alike, it's a great place to spend an informal evening with family and friends.
