Barbados Historic Tour - George Washington House and Garrison Tunnels
During your trip to Barbados come experience the historic Barbadian home where young George Washington spent six weeks in 1751. This particular tour also takes visitors on a walking tour of the Garrison Tunnels, this intricate tunnel system was designed to transport troops below ground to a safe venue in the event Queen Ann’s Fort was overtaken.
Many historians note that George Washington never travelled as a young man with the exception of his trip to Barbados in 1751. The beautifully restored home is now a museum to showcase the many artifacts left behind, there is also a wide selection of interactive displays showcasing 18th and 19th century Barbados.
